In the third quarter of 2024, the top social networking applications in Oceania displayed varied performance in terms of downloads, revenue, and active users, according to Sensor Tower data.

Threads saw a notable upward trend in weekly downloads, starting at around 77K in early July and peaking at approximately 132K by mid-September. Meanwhile, its weekly active users grew from about 1.9M to over 2.2M by the end of the quarter, indicating a healthy user engagement.

WhatsApp Messenger maintained a stable presence with weekly downloads ranging from 62K to 91K, although there was a slight downward trend towards the end of the quarter. The app's weekly active users remained robust, consistently hovering around the 9M mark.

Facebook generated a steady weekly revenue, starting at about $51K and reaching approximately $69K by the end of September. Its download numbers varied slightly, peaking at 64K in mid-August, while weekly active users remained stable at around 21.9M throughout the quarter.

Telegram Messenger experienced fluctuations in weekly revenue, with a significant spike to nearly $59K in mid-August. Downloads showed a peak at 42K in late August, while active users saw a slight decline from 750K to about 710K by the end of the quarter.

Life360: Find Friends & Family continued to grow in revenue, starting at $99K and increasing to around $115K by the end of September. Downloads varied slightly, reaching a high of 36K in late August. The app's weekly active users increased steadily from 1.1M to nearly 1.3M, reflecting its growing popularity.
